Hippity, hoppity, what could that be? That’s right: it’s a rabbit! One of the most famous critters on the face of the earth still remains one of the most popular pets anyone could own! Whether it’s a big rabbit or a small rabbit, there’s a “bunny” that will warm the heart of anyone who crosses paths with it! However, what are some interesting facts about this little creature? We’re here to hop to it:
Believe it or not, rabbits are herbivores! Unlike carnivores, rabbits only like to munch on the finest of greens and vegetables. Whether that be carrots, celery or lettuce, rabbits can be considered to have a healthy diet. Of course, there are other things that you can feed your rabbit, such as (but are not limited to): bok choy, dill, mint, parsley, and so much more! If you’re not sure what to feed your rabbit, always consult with your veterinarian, first!
Just like cats, rabbits make purring noises when they’re content. That’s correct: whether you pet your rabbit or they’re just happy in general, they’ll begin to make these noises to let you know that they’re cheery and joyful. It’s wonderful to hear — especially when you least expect it. So, if you happen to own a rabbit or are a first-time rabbit owner, don’t be alarmed when you hear your little one making these cat-like noises. However, your rabbit won’t meow!
When you own a rabbit, you’ll notice that their teeth and nails are always growing! No matter what age they may be, these essentials features have a mind of their own! Of course, this means that you must trim their nails when they get too long. This will not only keep your rabbit comfortable, but it will also keep their nails in tip-top shape. Indeed, if you don’t feel comfortable cutting your rabbit’s nails, then it’s essential to bring them to their veterinarian to do the critical task.
Just like a human being, rabbits need sources of entertainment! Whether that’s playing with them or giving them a variety of toys, your bunny will need to have many different sources of fun! If your rabbit doesn’t have any entertainment, then it’s possible that they can get very bored, quite easily. Additionally, they can also get rather upset if they’re bored — so it’s always important to make sure your rabbit is entertained at all times!
