With Easter just few days away, bunnies are on everyone's mind! If you're thinking of adding a furry friend to your family this spring, a rabbit might just be the perfect fit!
What should you feed your pet rabbit?
Your bunny's diet should mostly be comprised of grass and hay. This provides your rabbit with plenty of Vitamin A, Vitamin D, calcium, protein, and other nutrients. Trying giving your rabbit a variety of grass/hay mixtures to keep their diet healthy.
You can also feed your bunny pellets. These pellets should make up less of your rabbit's diet with age, and they should always have access to hay throughout their life.
Fresh foods are also an important part of a healthy diet. Feed your rabbit fresh foods like spinach, carrot tops, celery, cabbage, apples, pears, peaches, kiwi and nectarines. Just be mindful that no more than 10% of your rabbits diet should be fruit (about 1 teaspoon per 2 lbs of body weight -- so a very small amount!).
